An online store or a catalog with inquiries
If buyers can choose products by specifications and quantity, a cart helps collect items into one order. If a specialist needs to confirm the configuration and price every time, the first version can be a catalog with a request for a quote.
This choice affects the development scope. An order requiring a manager's confirmation does not necessarily need online payment from the start. Self-service purchases require defined prices, availability, delivery terms and a clear payment completion process.
How buyers choose products
An estimate requires sample products with real fields, variants and photos. The number of items matters together with the catalog structure: a hundred similar product pages and a hundred products with different selection rules require different preparation.
- We build categories and filters around the attributes buyers actually use to choose.
- Product pages show photos, specifications, variants and order terms.
- We establish where prices and stock information come from and how often they need updating.
- We define behavior for products without a price, unavailable items and made-to-order variants.
- We agree on how the range is imported and edited: the data source, responsible person and management interface needed.
Cart and checkout
In the cart, buyers should see their selected variants, quantities and total, edit the order and proceed to checkout. We collect only the information needed at that step. Delivery terms and extra charges are shown before confirmation when they are already known.
We separately define where orders are saved and who receives them. After checkout, buyers see a clear status. If stock or delivery needs checking, we explain that the order awaits a manager's confirmation. Submitting a form does not itself mean payment has been made.
Payments, delivery and external systems
Integrations depend on the chosen services, the country where the business operates, contracts and available data exchange methods. Before including them in the estimate, we check requirements and whether a test setup is possible.
| Integration | What we clarify in advance |
|---|---|
| Online payment | Provider, currency, availability for the business, and confirmation of payments and refunds. |
| Delivery | Geographic coverage, rates, collection options and whether status exchange is needed. |
| CRM or business management system | Order fields, transfer rules, access and error handling. |
| Prices and stock | The primary source, update frequency and what to do when data differs. |
How we check the store before launch
- We go through product, variant and quantity selection on mobile and desktop.
- We check cart changes, its empty state and unavailable items.
- We place a test order and compare the saved products, contact details, total and status.
- We check repeated clicks, input errors and order transfer failures.
- If payments are connected, we check the provider's supported test scenarios and status confirmation. Launch is agreed separately after acceptance.
Cost and the first version
The cost of an online store depends on the catalog structure, product variants, data management and integrations. For an estimate, send sample products, your current record-keeping method and the desired ordering process. This helps define the first version and timeline.
The first version can be limited to a catalog, cart and orders confirmed by a manager if that suits the business. Discounts, customer accounts, loyalty programs and complex data exchange are separate tasks. External service fees and support are discussed before launch.
We can work remotely, including with businesses in Almaty, Astana and other cities in Kazakhstan. Working arrangements and payment terms are agreed individually.
Next step
Let’s discuss your task
Send sample products and describe how you currently accept orders. Specify delivery countries, payment methods and your inventory or business management system, if you have one. We can discuss the first version and the information needed for an estimate.
